All Installs Follow Local and State Regulations

California offers a patchwork of different rules and regulations regarding professional window tinting services. It is always best to review the current expectations for where you live, especially when zoning regulations, building codes, or HOA requirements are part of the project planning process.
 
For drivers, there are four expectations to review from the window tinting laws passed in 1999.
 

• The front side windows must have a minimum VLT 70 rating. If you already have a factory-installed product on your vehicle, the aftermarket addition must let in more than 88% of the available light.
• Windshields can have non-reflective tin installed on the top four inches of the glass.
• You can use any tint darkness on the back side (driver and passenger) or rear windows.
• Reflective qualities cannot be more than what standard glass offers.

 
If your rear window is tinted in California, you are required to have dual side mirrors. The side windows must have colorless tint, while others can use anything but red, amber, or blue.
 
Our inventory is filled with film manufacturers that certify the products they sell in the state. Once the work is completed, we give you the sticker or certificate for a legal install that includes the name and address of our vendor. 

​How Long Does It Take to Professionally Tint a Car’s Windows?

​It usually takes between two to four hours to complete the window tinting process for most makes and models. The actual service appointment varies based on the complexity of the required work.
 
Why does it take this long to finish the work? Our team wants to make sure everything is perfect for you before you drive off to finish your day. We’ll clean the windows, carefully apply the film, and smooth out any bubbles.
 
If necessary, we can even remove old tint before applying your new application.
 
We recommend clearing out about half the day to be safe without knowing anything about the project. Some window tints require additional curing time, so our staff might ask you to keep the windows up for a day or two after.
